Medium Duty Firebrick (Dome)

Medium-duty firebricks are characterized by a relatively higher alumina content, typically ranging from 30% to 42%. This elevated alumina composition makes them well-suited for applications requiring resistance to moderate temperatures, such as in industrial furnaces and kilns. These firebricks offer a balance between thermal insulation and durability, making them suitable for a variety of intermediate temperature settings, including residential fireplaces and pizza ovens.

The medium-duty firebrick is pretty much the generic brick you’ll find in most building materials and masonry supplies stores, and building a brick pizza oven using those bricks without know who made them, or the alumina content percentage is a perfectly reasonable choice.
