A DIY brick oven uses forms to hold up brick arches when the mortar is setting. Forms can be used in a barrel vault oven for the main oven chamber arch, and for the oven opening and vent opening arches. After the arch dries and becomes solid, the form is lowered and removed. Forms are typically made from plywood, and Brick Oven kits that feature pre-cut bricks often feature CNC cut forms.

Forms are different from Molds. Where Forms hold bricks used to make arches, Mold are use to shape castable material, such as Castable Refractory.
