Different people use different terms to describe pizza oven ventilation. The term Duct can be used to describe the part of the pizza oven that extracts hot air and smoke exhausted by the oven. The vent is typically, though not always, located outside the oven in the front. The vent has an opening to carry air, and it is “directly connected” to a single or double-wall chimney system using an “anchor plate” or “chimney starter”.
